What Sparlet collects
Your email address and first name if you create an account, or a guest identifier if you don’t. The documents you upload and the courses built from them. The study goal and previous study resource answers you choose during setup. Your lesson progress, streak and XP.
Your documents
When you upload a document, its text is sent to our AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to generate your lessons and questions. We use their business APIs, under terms that do not permit training on the content we send. Your original file is stored so a course can be rebuilt, and is never shown to another user. You choose whether to share a generated course through an invitation.
Only upload documents you own or are allowed to share. If something is confidential, that doesn’t change because an app is reading it.
Analytics
Product metrics include screens, actions, lesson progress, errors and the bounded answers you choose during setup. PostHog stores them under a persistent, randomly generated app/device identifier and an analytics profile. Course and session identifiers may accompany usage events, so we disclose these records as linked data. Analytics never include your email, filenames or document content.
Sparlet’s own analytics, usage totals and setup answers remain enabled. There are no ads, no advertising identifier, no session replay and no cross-app tracking, and we never sell your data.
Deleting your data
You can request deletion through Settings, then Delete account (or Delete guest data), or by contacting us below. Accepted deletion requests end account access and initiate background cleanup of account data, uploaded documents, owned courses (including shared courses) and progress. The app keeps a secure deletion-status receipt on this device so you can check completion while signed out. Apple-linked accounts may need a fresh Apple authorization to finish revoking the connection. If the in-app request is unavailable, contact us to arrange deletion.
